Reviews for The Sense of Honor

by Ashley Kath-Bilsky

Christiana Tatum does everything in her power to keep her friends and 'family' safe. When a stranger comes to Bellewyck Abbey to look into the secrets of the past, Christiana finds herself in a situation where she must deceive in order to survive. But she is falling in love with this man. Devlin Grayson, the Duke of Pemberton learns that he has inherited an estate. He also learns that it is in ruins and surmises that the servants have probably robbed it. There was also mention of a ward, but this ward seems to have disappeared. In concern for the child, he comes to Bellewyck Abbey in disguise to probe the shadows looking for answers. But the woman who tries to stop him at every turn is slowly stealing his heart and is making him question everything he believes in. He needs to win her trust to save her, before her sense of honor destroys her.

Ashley Kath-Bilsky has written an historical romance of the highest caliber. This reviewer was fesseled to the pages, fell in love with the hero and was cheering for the heroine all the way through. The plot is exciting and moves along at a good pace. The characters are multi-dimensional and the secondary characters bring life to the story. Sexual tension rages through this story and Ms. Kath-Bilsky gives her readers a breath-taking romance. The love scenes are sensual and very romantic. This reviewer was very pleased with how the author handled all the secrets. Sometimes it can be very frustrating for the reader when secrets keep tearing the main characters apart, but in this case, those secrets seem to bring them more together and both characters reacted very maturely when the secrets finally came to light. This reviewer is hoping that this very talented author will have another book out very soon.

Award winning author, Ashley Kath-Bilsky sweeps her readers back to early nineteenth century England in her romantic suspense novel THE SENSE OF HONOR.

The Duke of Pemberton, Devlin Grayson, has recently inherited an estate from his distant relative Lord Bellewyck and along with it the responsibility of a ward. However, his new property, the Bellewyck Abby, is in ruins and the Bellewyck ward is missing. Devlin decides to check things out for himself, convinced that the servants have been stealing from the estate and have done something with the child. His friends urge him on and suggest he go under cover, in fact they place a wager on the outcome. So, Devlin Grayson becomes Mr. Randolph the Duke's steward for the Bellewyck Abby estate.

Devlin's ruse to get the servants to talk to him does not work as his run in with the feisty house keeper, Christiana Tatum, acting as a chimney sweep and the solid silence of the other servants will attest. As Mr. Randolph, he encounters one secret after another blocking his discovering the whereabouts of the ward as well as finding out what clandestine business the people of Bellewyck Abby are up to. Christiana does have many hidden secrets and among them; her true identity and her involvement with smugglers. Mr. Randolph's appearance at the Abby may put everyone in danger. There is one truth Devlin and Christiana can not ignore however, and that is their growing attraction for each other.

THE SENSE OF HONOR is aptly named as the heroine and hero are both driven by it. Ms. Kath-Bilsky skillfully weaves these two honor bound characters through a plot of subterfuge and intrigue to a blissfully romantic ending that will leave the reader sighing with satisfaction. The supporting characters are unique and well written which adds to the dimension of the story, while Ms. Kath-Bilsky's cunning use of dialog and description alone make THE SENSE OF HONOR a riveting read that must not be missed.
